Lose yourself in wonder. Find yourself again and again.
The first Four Seasons Resort in the Dominican Republic will be built at Tropicalia, a private family hideaway along Playa Esmeralda. Tropicalia is located on the southern coast of Samaná Bay, a tranquil cove in the eastern Dominican Republic with unparalleled biodiversity. It is a place where multiple histories and cultures come together in a majestic natural environment.

TIMELESS LANDSCAPES, MEMORABLE MOMENTS
Secluded palm-fringed beaches. Vibrant coral reefs. Verdant farmland. A cloud forest blanketing centuries-old trees. These are just some of the spectacular tropical landscapes that come together at Tropicalia.

Covering thousands of acres, Tropicalia's richly varied terrain offers a stunning variety of leisure and recreation activities for all ages, including whale-watching, paddle boarding, snorkeling, kayaking, sailing, swimming, and kitesurfing in the crystalline waters of Samaná Bay.

Scuba divers can explore the bay's vast, exotic marine ecosystem, as well as the shipwrecks of centuries-old Spanish galleons, while casual walks and hikes open an expansive variety of terrain - from ocean shores to the peaks of lush mountain forests.

Laguna Redonda, a tranquil lake preserve connected to the Atlantic Ocean by a lush mangrove canal, is a vibrant spot for exploration.

Near the property, hikers and mountain bikers can explore one of the Caribbean's only cloud forests, as well as Salto de la Jalda - the Caribbean's highest waterfall.

Just a short trip down the coast, Los Haitises National Park is an explorer's paradise. Encompassing 319 square miles, the park boasts lush rolling hills, dense mangrove forests, ancient caverns, Taíno petroglyphs, and bountiful wildlife ready for discovery by hikers, mountain bikers, boaters, paddle boarders, and kayakers.

For more than a decade, Fundación Tropicalia has been working with the community of Miches supporting social, environmental and economic development in the region. Founded by the Cisneros family in 2008, the non-profit organization’s programs are driven by and responsive to the needs of local residents, while strategically designed to maximize outcome and impact.

Initiatives include public school improvement programs, continuing education for public school teachers and principals, training in sustainable and organic farming and supply chain optimization for local farmers, access to microfinancing and scholarship opportunities, gender equality programs, response to natural disasters, and more.

Via multisector partnerships and the dedication of a passionate team, Fundación Tropicalia impacts thousands of lives every year and has built deep roots in the community. It remains ever-committed to contributing positively to the land and its people.

Beach Flats
Nestled just off the shores of the tranquil beach cove of Playa Esmeralda, 16 Beach Flats are situated to optimize privacy and views. Beach Flats are available in 3- or 4-bedroom configurations, each with a private plunge pool. While upper-floor Flats are embraced by panoramic ocean views of Samaná Bay, the ground-floor Flats expand outdoors into private, tropical gardens.

Beachfront Villas
The Four Seasons offers nine single-story Beachfront Villas dotting the shoreline, with direct views of Samaná Bay. Understated and elegant, the expansive Villas each feature four bedrooms with multiple private outdoor living areas, a private lap pool with ocean views and a flex space that converts to a fifth bedroom.
